Chair of International Relations and Diplomacy

The Chair was established in 1993. The first head of the Chair was Ph.D., Professor Edik Zohrabyan. Until 1998, it functioned as part of the Faculty of History called "Chair of History and Theory of International Relations". In 1998, after the establishment of the Faculty of International Relations, it was renamed the Chair of International Relations and Diplomacy and was included in the Faculty of International Relations.

The teaching staff of the Chair carries out significant scientific and educational activities. Scientific research is carried out in the following directions:

• Issues of Armenian diplomacy and RA foreign policy,

• Modern processes of international relations,

• Global and regional integration processes,

• Global and regional security issues.

At the initiative of the Chair, national and international scientific conferences and scientific sessions are held. Meetings are regularly organized with foreign diplomatic representatives accredited in RA, as well as experts invited from leading foreign scientific and educational institutions.

The Chair implements "International Relations" Undergraduate and "International Relations" (full-time and part-time), "Global Politics" Master's degree educational programs.

The "World Politics" Master's degree educational program is connected to the CIS network university, and since 2013, it has been implemented jointly with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), and graduates of the educational program receive a double diploma.

The head of the Chair is Ph.D., Associate Professor Zhak Manukyan.
