About Yerevan State University Open Access Policy

The open access policy of the "Yerevan State University" Foundation was developed within the framework of the "Erasmus+ MINERVA" project on "Development of Research Management and Public Science Capacities of the Universities of Moldova and Armenia" co-financed by the European Union (MINERVA-Strengthening Research Management and Open Science Capacities of HEIs in Moldova and Armenia (Ref. nr.: 597912-EPP-1-2018-1-MD-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP) of Erasmus+, the Key Action 2 Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education).

YSU Open Science Strategy for 2021-2026.

Yerevan State University constantly ensures the delivery of high-quality educational programs, implements the application and dissemination of innovative methods in the academic-research environment and encourages academic improvement among students and employees. YSU aims to become an educational institution that:

Offers students educational programs that are in line with the fundamental principles of European higher education and provide comprehensive knowledge, abilities, and skills based on research, creative work, and innovation;
Ensures the education of students in the spirit of moral, national, and universal values,
Is affordable and provides wide opportunities to different layers of society.

The activity of Yerevan State University is aimed at the implementation of science-based educational programs and scientific research by international standards and modern requirements of the labor market in various fields of Armenological, natural, exact, social, and humanitarian sciences and technology.

Yerevan State University aspires to be an internationally recognized, student-centered, high-quality educational and research public institution that will contribute to the sustainable economic development of the state and society by providing internationally recognized science-based educational programs and competitive scientific research.

Berlin Declaration

Yerevan State University fully endorses open science, open innovation, and openness to the world as one of the main research and innovation strategies in the European Research Area.

Armenia's academic community has recognized the importance and benefits of open science principles, which are demonstrated through numerous initiatives undertaken by government agencies, faculties, libraries, NGOs, and journal publishers.

To contribute to the strengthening of research management and open science capacities of universities in Armenia, YSU joined the "MINERVA" project, the main goal of which is to create conditions for the implementation of the main principles of "Open Science" in Armenian universities.
