Research Center-Library of Greek Studies
The YSU Research Center-Library of Greek Studies was founded in 1999 with the support of the "JASON" project operating at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. The presidents of Armenia and Greece attended the ceremonial opening of the center, which took place on May 13, 1999.
On December 8, 1999, the YSU Rector signed an order on establishing the Research Center of Greek Studies at Yerevan State University. The center has a rich library, where, in addition to a rich selection of classics of modern Greek literature, there are also the latest modern Greek workbooks, textbooks, encyclopedias and dictionaries.
Since its establishment, the center has cooperated with a number of scientific and educational institutions in Greece, including the State Scholarship Fund, the "Alexander Onassis" Charitable Foundation, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Ioannina and the University of the Aegean. In recent years, the center also cooperates with the Democritus University of Thrace.
Since 2000, YSU has been cooperating with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as part of the "JASON" program, which provides an opportunity for our students to participate in one-month and eight-month courses on Greek language and culture.
