Armenian language and literature
Bachelor's degree programme
The duration of the "Armenian language and literature" Bachelor's education program is 4 years (8 semesters). The academic semester is 20 weeks, distributed in the following order: 8 weeks of classroom training, 1 week of exams, 7 weeks of classroom training, 1 week of exams and tests, and 3 weeks of final exams.
A maximum of five exams are scheduled in each semester of the Bachelor's educational program, except for the first semester, where the number of exams does not exceed three.
The applicant for the program should have a secondary education or an equivalent qualification. Admission of applicants with secondary education or equivalent qualifications is carried out on a competitive principle based on the results of the entrance exams.
The applicant takes an exam in the "Armenian language and literature" (written) and "Foreign language" (written).
The goal of the program is to prepare professionals oriented to work in the scientific and educational system, who will be able to:
- Analyze and coordinate data related to the fields of linguistics and literary studies,
- Perform linguistic and literary analyses, editorial and translation work,
- Introduce applied principles of linguistic and literary studies in the given field to ensure effective activity,
- Organize and guide the literary works analysis, do text editing, and translation, as well as publication preparation, and language and literature teaching.
Graduates of the program continue their studies in the Master's program of Yerevan State University, as well as in various educational institutions.
Graduates of the "Armenian Language and Literature" program work in scientific and educational institutions, as well as RA state and private universities, public schools, Matenadaran, RA NAS language and literature institutes, house museums, libraries, various educational and cultural institutions, etc.
