STUDENTS WHO STUDY CHINESE LANGUAGE RECEIVED CERTIFICATES
The ceremony of handing over certificates for students who study Chinese Language was held at the Center for Chinese Culture and Language at YSU Faculty of International Relations today.
Employee of the center David Chen delivered a lecture at the event, in which students and lecturers took part.
Head of the above mentioned center, Deputy Dean of YSU Faculty of International Relations, lecturer at the Chair of Diplomatic Service and Communication Arthur Israelyan mentioned that from 2005 to 2018 the center had more than 50 graduates and their side is also going to be present a new master program in the nearest future.
He introduced the participants David Chen, and the latter observed China as one of the emerging superpowers: "China will become one of the super-powerful countries that will play a major role in the world."
David Chen added with enthusiasm that he loves Armenia very much and is happy for close friendly ties and relationship with Confucius Institute. He emphasized the importance of Chinese language, saying that about 2,000 students in Armenia know Chinese language, which is a language of art and painting.
Varsenik Melkumyan, who received a certificate of completion, is a Persian-language guide. She is studying Chinese to work with Chinese tourists coming to Armenia.
Varsenic will visit for two weeks the Confucius Institute branch in Dalian City in July and then will travel to Shanghai: "Naturally, two weeks is not too much, but it will give me a chance to get closer to Chinese culture and to understand whether it is possible to continue education there."
David Chen gave the students certificates of completion, read a congratulatory message.
