YSU TEAM GETS GOLDEN AND SILVER MEDALS AT INTERNTIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
The 26th International Mathematics Competition for University Students held in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria has been over. Armenia was represented by YSU team which got 3 golden and 3 silver medals.
The competition was held from July 28 till August 3. Teams of 77 universities worldwide took part in the contest ( 360 participants).
Three of the participants of the team including students of YSU Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics and the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Matematics-Albert Gevorgyan, Arsen Hambardzumyan and Grigor Kerobyan achieved golden medals, and Vahagn Altunyan, Sevak Abrahamyan and Arman Bayramyan got silver medals. The competition was held both in individual and in team nominations. In individual nomination Albert Gevorgyan shared the 19th and 20th places. In team nomination YSU got the 13th place leaving behind a number of prestigious universities.
YSU team was led by the lecturer of YSU and AUA Karen Keryan who was the 2nd of team leaders at the competition in efficiency. YSU team was trained by Vazgen Mikaelyn and Karen Keryan.
