The Center for the Study of the Christian East, University of Salzburg, is offering an Erasmus phd for a phd-student from the YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, Arabic Studies. The PHD should work on a topic in classical Arabic philology and linguistics, in the field of (medieval) Arabic manuscripts, preferably in the field of natural science manuscripts or in the field of translations of Arabic literature from Byzantine-Greek or from Arabic into Armenian. Research period: 1st semester of 2024-2025 academic year.
Applicants are required to be proficient in English (according to University of Salzburg and YSU Inter-Institutional Agreement) respectively, and to provide certifications or self-certifications of the required level.
