Researchers who are interested in the history of the bilateral relations of the Caucasian states and societies with Germany, the history of the Caucasus and the Black Sea region, as well as Caucasian perspectives on the rise, decline, competition, domination and aftermath of empires (such as the Russian Empire/Soviet Union, the Ottoman Empire, the Persian Empire or the Byzantine Empire), can apply to the program.
