Main Responsibilities
Category Leadership:
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking brand strategy that sets the benchmark for electronics and appliance retail
- Stay on the cutting edge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer preferences to define category objectives
Product Assortment Curation:
- Collaborate with top-tier manufacturers and internal teams to curate a captivating product assortment that reflects brand and customer aspirations
- Optimize the product mix within the category, balancing customer demand, and profitability
Pricing and Promotion Strategies:
- Craft competitive pricing strategies to ensure products are not only desired but accessible
- Plan and execute innovative promotions and marketing campaigns that drive category growth and engagement
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Harness data analytics to make informed decisions about product performance and category health
- Continuously analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to refine category strategies
Vendor Partnerships:
- Foster strong relationships with leading suppliers and negotiate favorable terms to ensure the company offer the best products at the best prices
- Monitor vendor performance and hold them accountable for meeting high standards
Customer-Centric Approach:
- Understand diverse customer base and adapt category strategies to meet their distinct needs and preferences
- Incorporate customer feedback to make data-driven enhancements and introduce new, customer-focused features
Innovation and Growth:
- Explore new product lines, partnerships, and emerging market opportunities to drive category growth and stay at the forefront of technology and home living
Required Qualifications
- Creative and strategic thinking with an eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in the tech and home appliance space
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and retail software
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus
- Proven experience in category management or retail buying, with a focus on electronics and appliances
