AREVIК (MEGHRI): HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE AND INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS

Yerevan State University and the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (IAE), with assistance of the All Armenian Foundation Financing Armenological Studies and in cooperation with the nationwide organization ''Terre et culture'', are convening an international conference dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the region of Arevik in Syunik province (nowadays Meghri region). The conference will take into examination various aspects of intercultural relations that the region of Arevik has developed with the neighboring countries during its history.
We welcome analytical papers representing scholarly novelty and related to the following academic disciplines:
tangible cultural heritage (archaeology, epigraphy, museology);
intangible cultural heritage (ethnography, cultural anthropology, folklore studies, linguistics, dialectology);
art history (architecture, miniature painting, frescoes, manuscripts);
historical disciplines (historiography, source studies, topography, cartography).
The conference will be held in Yerevan and Meghri.
For the participation, please send your abstract, indicating the name of the author(s), title, position, place of work and mobile phone number to meghri.conference@gmail.com by September. The participants selected by the organizing committee will be notified by October. The preliminary program of the conference will be sent to the participants by October.
The articles written on the basis of the reports will be included in the collection Arevik: Essays on Historical and Cultural Heritage, which will be published in 2024.
The working languages of the conference are Armenian, English, French, and Russian.
