On November 6-8, this year, at 9:30 a.m., an international scientific conference titled "Audiovisual Storytelling, Dramaturgy and Translation", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography will be held.

The transition from analog to digital media not only revolutionized technology but also greatly influenced storytelling in both audiovisual culture and theater. In this digital era, storytelling has expanded its boundaries.

This is especially evident in the theater, where interactive, immersive, and multimedia formats are coming to replace the traditional format. The barrier between the creator and the audience is disappearing, and the need to distribute works through technology threatens to lead to "clip thinking".

At the same time, the digital environment promotes the convergence of different art forms; filmmakers, writers, musicians, and visual artists now co-create multimedia projects using unexpected scripting techniques.

In this dynamic and ever-evolving environment, storytelling continues to serve as a powerful tool for exploring complex topics and creating dialogue. Addressing social issues, and exploring the human psyche, digital stories can have an impact on the audience, thus influencing the entire society.

By emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and inclusion, we can now discover new opportunities for artistic expression.

Expanding the reach of audiovisual narratives through translation is important to promote cultural exchange and reach a wider audience. Storytelling breaks down language barriers, making stories universal. This not only expands existing boundaries but also promotes cross-cultural understanding. As technology advances, so does the potential for translation and localization, enabling more compelling stories to be presented to audiences.

The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform for discussions on issues related to audiovisual storytelling, as well as drama and translation. Representatives of the fields of performing arts, film studies, linguistics, translation studies, as well as cultural studies have the opportunity to participate in the conference.
