Chair of Pedagogy
The Chair of Pedagogy of Yerevan State University is one of the oldest ones. It was founded on October 10, 1921, with the initiative and efforts of the talented scientist-pedagogues of the time. They played a significant role in the establishment of the Chair and the organization and development of scientific and pedagogical activities, among them the Chair's founder, Professor Gurgen Edilyan.
The Chair of Pedagogy of YSU still makes an important contribution to the scientific, and educational activities of the university, education managers, and social pedagogues.
Leading scientist-pedagogues work in the Chair, as well as study and develop scientific branches of pedagogy. They are the authors of many monographs, university manuals, school textbooks, teacher's manuals, the Armenian Pedagogical Encyclopedia (Books A and B), and more than 700 scientific articles.
The Chair of Pedagogy carries out effective educational and scientific activities, which are implemented with constantly updated educational programs. The Chair implements "Social Pedagogy" Undergraduate and "Educational Organization" (full-time and part-time), "School Pedagogy and Methodology" (part-time), and "Instructional Leadership" (part-time) Master's degree educational programs. Over the years, graduates of these programs have achieved significant success in their further studies and careers.
