Chair of Telecommunications and Signal Processing
The "Telecommunications and Signal Processing" Chair has been operating in the Faculty of Radiophysics since 2019.
The "Telecommunications and Signal Processing" specialization has been operating in the faculty since 2008 at the Chair of Radiophysics and Telecommunications of UFC.
The Chair also organizes the teaching activities of the basic sections of higher mathematics specially developed in the direction of radiophysics.
The Chair prepares specialists who can work in enterprises related to the fields of information processing and transmission, technology design, automation, operation, information security, and banking system, as well as in research institutes that ensure the development of this field.
Computerized signal processing methods and their speed are of critical importance in various fields, from military problems to the automation of industrial and scientific devices.
The mission of the Chair:
To prepare high-level specialists in the field of telecommunications and signal processing who have deep and fundamental theoretical knowledge, and can skillfully apply them in practice.
To research the development of high-efficiency telecommunication systems, and various electromagnetic wave guidance systems (resonators, antennas, absorbing metasurfaces).
To promote the application of modern mathematical apparatus for solving telecommunications, digital signal processing, as well as general radiophysical problems.
The main directions of research carried out at the Chair are:
The improvement of spectral efficiency of telecommunication systems and development of new generation telecommunication networks,
The development of electrically small antennas, absorbers of electromagnetic waves in a wide range of frequencies based on metamaterials and metasurfaces,
Research and development of systems with controlled phase response, research of microscale resonators in the optical and terahertz range.
The Chair implements an Undergraduate program in "Telecommunications and signal processing" and a Master’s degree program in "Telecommunications".
