Nuclear Reactors Physics
Bachelor's degree programme
About the program
Admission requirements
Admission is carried out by the procedure of "Admission of RA state and non-state higher educational institutions (by Bachelor's and uninterrupted and integrated educational programs)" approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
For admission, the applicants take two competitive exams in "Mathematics", "Physics" or "Foreign Language".
The aim of the program
The program aims to provide students with knowledge and understanding of nuclear physics, atomic energy, accelerator technology, and nuclear medicine, to present knowledge and understanding of the modeling of processes studied in the fields of experimental nuclear physics and atomic energy, as well as practical abilities to receive, coordinate and analyze information.
Advantages
The educational program is the sequence of the "Nuclear Physics" (reactor physics) program that has been successfully operating at YSU for many years. The "Physics of Nuclear Reactors" educational program is the only one in RA that prepares physicists in the field of nuclear physics.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the program work in enterprises in the field of nuclear physics and atomic energy in the Republic of Armenia and foreign countries, in institutes conducting fundamental and applied research, in the field of physical process modeling, occupying relevant positions and acting as specialists conducting experimental research, etc.
Possible workplaces are the YSU Chair for Nuclear Physics, CANDLE research center, "The National Laboratory of Armenia named after A. I. Alikhanyan Foundation, Hayatom Closed Joint Stock Company Research Center, Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, State Engineering University of Armenia, other state and private enterprises carrying out basic and applied research, natural sciences oriented high schools.
