Solid State Nanophysics and Nanomaterials
Master's programme
About the program
Admission requirements
Admission to the Master's degree is carried out without exams for those who hold a diploma in the specialty "Nanophysics and Advanced Technologies” and for applicants in related specialties, based on the exam conducted with a questionnaire intended for the Bachelor's program of the mentioned specialty.
The aim of the program
The program aims to provide students with deep knowledge and understanding of solid-state nanophysics and the physical properties of nanomaterials, to form a clear understanding of the directions and prospects of the development of this field, introducing them to the main theoretical and experimental methods of obtaining and studying solid-state nanosystems with specified properties.
After receiving higher professional education, students become scientific and technical specialists with practical skills to work in solid-state nanoelectronic device construction, spectral and structural analysis of nanomaterials, radiographic and electronic diagnostics (diagnostics), military industry, metallurgy, energy, and environmental protection, and other target fields.
Upon the completion of the program, graduates acquire the ability to critically observe, analyze, evaluate, and interpret practical problems and formulate solutions, scientific and engineering projects, work in a team, and lead.
Advantages
Upon successful completion of the educational program, students will be able to present in-depth professional knowledge on the analysis of basic principles and theories of physics, the features of experimental research planning, modeling, and implementation processes, as well as to present the important directions and problems of solid-state nanophysics.
Graduates of the program will be able to describe the areas of application of the well-known theories of modern physics and the possibilities of technological implementation, present the environmental dangers caused by the technological application of the achievements of nanophysics and related fields and the methods of assessing their consequences and risks, evaluating the problems that arise during professional activity comprehensively, give effective options for their solution and choose the appropriate measures, as well as present digital modeling.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the "Solid State Nanophysics and Nanomaterials" educational program work in universities, academic and other research institutes, high-tech industries, energy, environmental protection, and other sectors of the economy such as the YSU Institute of Physics and Research Laboratories, YSU Faculties of Chemistry, Biology and Research Laboratories, RA NAS Institute of Physical Research, RA NAS Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, RA NAS Institute of Applied Physics Problems, A.
