From May 23-31, this year, as part of international academic mobility, two first-year master's students from the Chair of Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology of the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology undertook an internship at the Department of Engineering Hydrology of the Russian State University of Hydrometeorology (RSHU).
The internship was held at the educational practice base in Daimishche, where the students were introduced to hydrometeorological measuring equipment and participated in conducting observations. They took part in the organization of an experimental station for observing evaporation from water surface, total evaporation and making observations in that station, involved in physical modeling of occurrences of riverbed floods and measuring soil moisture reserves, conducting daily hydrological and meteorological observations, and studying soil composition and structure through stratigraphy.
The students toured the laboratories at RSHU and participated in scientific experiments conducted there. They also visited the museum at RSHU and left their remarks in the university's guest book.
Furthermore, detailed information about the internship can be found on the RSHU website.
