About the program
The "Geology" Undergraduate educational program operates in YSU's "Regional Geology and Mineral Exploration" and "Geophysics, Engineering and Hydrogeology" chairs for the Bachelor's educational level, according to the principles of on-site learning. The duration of the program is 4 years.
Admission requirements
To be admitted to a Bachelor's degree in the specialty "Geology", the applicant should pass competitive exams in "Mathematics" (written), "Physics" (written), or "Geography" (written) and a non-competitive exam in "The Armenian language" (written).
The aim of the program
The program aims to prepare specialists with comprehensive and systematic knowledge and abilities for professional work and continuing studies in various fields of industry and science: regional geology, geochemistry, geophysics, seismology, hydrogeology and engineering geology, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits, mineral resource evaluation, mining, environmental protection, and other fields.

The "Geology" educational program is the only one in RA universities that prepares specialists in the above-mentioned fields and provides an opportunity to continue deepening professional knowledge in Master's and Postgraduate studies.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the educational program have the opportunity to work in the Institute of Geological Sciences of the RA NAS, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Ministries of the Environment, Emergency Situations, the Territorial Service of Seismic Protection, the Cadaster Committee, the Regional Governors' Offices of the Republic of Armenia, mining companies, exploration expeditions, in associations carrying out construction activities.
