The Chair of Personality Psychology hosted Nata Asatiani, Head of the Department of Psychology of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, who presented the results of the research "Psychological Nature and Determinants of Bullying".
The teaching staff of the faculty and students of the "Child Psychology and Psychotherapy" master’s program were present at the meeting.
According to the hypothesis proposed in the presented research, bullying arises from the intersection of three main components: personal aggression, the target of this aggression, and the environment that promotes aggression and bullying. The findings showed that regardless of the level of aggression, a safe school environment significantly reduces the incidence of bullying, and also, regardless of the level of aggression, an unsafe school environment promotes a high-level manifestation of the phenomenon.
Lecturers of the Chair of Personality Psychology and Nata Asatiani highlighted the importance of studying the problematic aspects of the discussed phenomenon, and further cooperation opportunities were also discussed.
