About the program
Admission requirements
Admission is carried out by the admission regulations of RA higher education institutions. Admission is based on the results of the centralized entrance exams for the "Armenian Language, and Literature”, and "Armenian History". Applicants with secondary and secondary vocational education can take part in the entrance exams.
The aim of the program
The program aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge about the processes and trends of international relations, demonstrating the ability to analyze political processes systematically during practical activities, as well as to train competitive internationalists based on international experience who will possess professional skills and abilities, being able to both work practically and provide expertise.
Advantages
The classrooms equipped with modern equipment and software, as well as electronic resources are used in the learning process.
The standards of the national qualification framework of the RA, the standards of the educational programs of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (university), and the structure and content of the YSU Bachelor's educational program (Guidebook) were used in developing the program.
Upon completion of the program, the student will be equipped with professional knowledge and understanding, general (transferable) skills, and practical professional skills. The student will be able to formulate the problems and priorities in international relations, as well as to define the goals and principles of the activities of international organizations, present the legal dimension of international relations, classify and justify the causes and consequences of certain political developments, to present the characteristics, achievements, and failures of Armenian diplomacy in different historical stages during the presence and absence of statehood, to cover and classify modern conflicts and their resolution mechanisms, to present the main content materials required within the framework of the program and to define the main ideas, to formulate official texts and to provide professional translations.
Practically, the students will compose professional texts, perform translations, information processing and analysis, demonstrate the ability to use relevant knowledge, to carry out professional activities, use the knowledge in the field of geography, professional communication, conducting diplomatic visits and conversations, diplomatic protocol, manners, and conduct, to analyze the existing problems in international relations and to identify influencing factors and dimensions, causes and consequences, as well as to perform cause-and-effect analysis of foreign political developments.
The graduates will also be able to prepare scientific reports, present the results of research and conduct scientific debates, summarize the research and analytical developments made according to the requirements of normative documents, as well as based on professional sources and literature, presenting the ability to present conclusions and proposals, evaluate existing problems and their solutions, to construct the oral and written speech correctly, argued and clearly in Armenian and foreign languages, demonstrating the ability to communicate, as well as to bring substantiated arguments and counterarguments, to use professional literature and various sources of information, to prepare a conclusion by comparing and coordinating the arguments and counterarguments of the conflicting parties.
Career opportunities
Graduates will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the RA Representation of the United Nations, the Yerevan Office of the Council of Europe, the Armenian Delegation of the European Union, the NATO Information Center in Armenia, the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia, the Representation of the International Organization for Migration in Armenia, the Institute of Eurasian Studies in the Armenian branch, etc.
