About the program
The YSU Faculty of Chemistry is the only educational center that implements the Bachelor's educational program in "Chemistry". For the full implementation of the program, the faculty has the necessary material and technical base. Leading specialists who regularly participate in training courses and meet the requirements of international program guidelines and standards for the given profession, teach the educational program.
Three chairs of the faculty of chemistry organize the educational process: Inorganic and analytical chemistry, Organic chemistry, and Physical and Colloid chemistry. Scientific research laboratories operate next to the chairs, in which activities the best students are engaged.
Admission requirements
The admission is carried out according to the admission procedure approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The aim of the program
The program aims to prepare specialists equipped with knowledge corresponding to the modern scientific and technical level of chemistry, with the skills to apply that knowledge in various fields of economy and science.
Advantages
Within the scope of the program, there is continuous cooperation in the direction of scientific and educational work with the universities of Rostock and Saarland (Germany), Lomonosov State University (Russia), and other international universities. Foreign partners also contribute to enriching students' professional knowledge and gaining experience. Exchange programs are implemented for high-achieving students, as well as faculty members, and joint graduate and scientific works are carried out.
The analysis shows that the graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry are mainly employed according to their specialty. The demand for highly qualified graduates in various research methods is also high in related professions. It should be noted that the graduates of YSU Chemistry Faculty are sought-after specialists in many universities and research centers abroad. Most of them have studied and graduated from leading universities in Europe, the USA, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong, Estonia, etc., and are now working in these countries.
Career opportunities
The graduates work in departments of Ministries of Environmental Protection, Agriculture, Emergencies, Energy and Natural Resources, ESCS, and Health, higher education institutions, and various enterprises related to the food and cosmetology industry, as researchers, product managers, technologists, consultants, laboratory assistant, chemistry teacher (in elementary and high schools, upon receiving additional 30 credits of the "Pedagogical educational block").
Bachelor's graduates can continue their studies in Master's programs in chemistry and related specializations of YSU, as well as in foreign universities.
