Program admission requirements
Applicants to the "Biochemistry and Biotechnology" educational program with the available training take the following exams:
Biology (compulsory)
Physics or Chemistry (as per applicant's choice)
Armenian language (non-competitive)
The aim of the program
The program aims to prepare specialists with fundamental knowledge and skills in the fields of biochemistry and biotechnology, who perform scientific research and pedagogical work, are familiar with the use and implementation of biological technologies in production, and will be able to explain the main features of the composition of living matter and the structure, properties, metabolic processes of its components and their regulatory mechanisms, designing programs for using the products of microbial and plant life in the fields of biotechnological production, medicine, pharmaceuticals, performing biochemical, molecular biological, cell genetic and microbiological analyzes of various biological samples. Professional internship is conducted in research institutes and various sectorial organizations. By participating in the courses of the pedagogical educational system (optional), the graduates receive the qualification of a pedagogue.

Graduates of the program work in organizations, enterprises, and centers operating in biology and related fields, in secondary and higher professional educational institutions as teachers (with pedagogical qualifications), lecturers, teacher’s aids, research assistants, employees of biochemical and microbiological laboratories, biochemist-specialists, microbiologist - specialists in medical laboratories, as well as doctors of medico-chemical analysis after appropriate training, etc.
