General information
LiDAR is a technology for detecting objects with the help of light and determining their distance. With the help of LiDAR it is possible to detect not only solid, but also transparent and translucent objects, from a few meters to hundreds of kilometers. The rapid development of technologies in recent years has led to a significant improvement in the properties and characteristics of LiDARs, which has made their fields of application unlimited today: the study of the earth and atmosphere, architecture, construction, mining, marine technology, military industry, drones, etc. The presented project is dedicated to the development of a fundamentally new system of laser beam scanning, which is a key component of LiDARs, using the latest materials and technologies. The basis of the system is the multi-layer electrically controlled structure of two modern materials - graphene and liquid crystal polymers. By the end of the project, it is envisaged to have a prototype of a graphene-liquid crystal multilayer structure and its testing results in terms of its use in LiDARs.
