The Orobanchaceae is one of the leading families of parasitic flowery plants in the Republic of Armenia, one of the centers of species formation thereof is deemed to be Armenia. The aim of the project presented shall be comprehensive studies of 3 new species for the science belonging to the Broomrapes, exploration of the status of the new detected species, clarification of the practical significance of the widely spread species of the broomrapes. The main direction of the presented program is the monitoring of the populations of the new species of the Orobanchaceae family, as a result of which the necessity and the status of their need to be included in the Red Book of Plants of the RA will be suggested. For the first time, the antioxidant-antifungal activities of parasitic species of the RA will be studied. The presented work can be the basis for the creation of new anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal remedies of plant origin, which is widely used by modern pharmacology and agriculture. As a result of the project, it is planned to create a database of Orobanchaceae family species. Thus, the planned research will contribute to the expansion of knowledge about broomrapes, the practical use of parasitic species, as well as the preservation of the diversity of new species.
