General information
Although, Armenia is considered to be a middle-water supply country and has sufficient water resources, but due to inefficient management, the available resources are still inadequate. The main goal of the survey is to develop an effective and sustainable water management plan for Lake Sevan, which will scientifically establish and define clear flows of water resources and the strategic importance of water use and wastewater, and will contribute stabilization of the lake and its basin ecosystem and sustainable economic development. At the first phase of the project, the collective researches carried out earlier will be analyzed and compared of cadastral works and monitoring of Lake Sevan and water resources of its basin, water use areas. The project's second phase will be carried out archival observations and monitoring of water resources, as well as analysis and synthesis of water use sectors. At the third phase of the project, a new plan for sustainable water management of Lake Sevan and its basin will be developed and proposed. At the final phase of the project it is planned to organize public discussions of the new plan for sustainable water resources management of Lake Sevan and its basin.
