Diversity, distribution and conservation of spiders of Armenia

The taxonomy, ecology, and conservation status of spiders in Armenia are practically not studied. The main goal of my Ph.D. study research is call to fill the gaps in our knowledge about the spider fauna of Armenia. The existing opportunities for the study of spiders and international cooperation will allow us to increase the number of known spider species in Armenia and create a national checklist of spiders. Morphology and barcoding will be used to identify species. All samples will be entered into the database and mapped, and will also be stored in collections. It is also planned to conduct research on the ecology of wolf spiders in the Lori region. As a result, rare species will be identified and their list together with descriptions and maps will be proposed for the new edition of the Red Book of Armenia.
