Within the framework of YSU international cooperation, new connections were established with YSU Diaspora Armenian benefactors, friends, and graduates.
Mutually beneficial cooperation programs were implemented with the Armenian communities of the Middle East, the USA, and European countries.
Negotiations regarding cooperation with YSU were held with the leaders of community associations of Diaspora Armenian graduates.
Within the framework of cooperation, one-time and annual scholarships were raised among Diaspora Armenian benefactors, which were distributed to socially disadvantaged and high-achieving students studying at YSU.
For this purpose, the cooperation with the “Vardanants Knights”, the Union of Armenian Artisans of California, the Armenian Educational Foundation (USA), and the "Galust Gulbenkian" Foundation was expanded, as a result of which 876 YSU students received one-time scholarships. At the same time, the foundation fully paid the annual fees of 98 students.
Due to the negotiations with the Galust Gulbenkian Foundation in 2008, an important project was launched: compensation for the expenses of YSU young scientists' short-term scientific and educational trips abroad, which continues to this day. As of January 15, 2013, 125 young scientists of YSU have benefited from this program, whose travel expenses were covered by the "Galust Gulbenkian" foundation. The financing of educational and scientific exchanges within the framework of the tripartite agreement between YSU (Faculty of Biology), CIBIO (Portugal), and the "Galust Gulbenkian" Foundation has also continued the total amount of which is 80,000 euros.
Today YSU professorial staff continues to cooperate with the foundation.
Negotiations were held between YSU Publishing House and the "Galust Gulbenkian" Foundation regarding the publication of scientific and educational literature. A number of books were published within the framework of that cooperation.
