On June 28, 2021, the Academic Council of the Faculty of International Relations presented to the YSU Scientific Council the decision on the establishment of the Center for Russian Studies at the Faculty.
According to the decision of the YSU Board of Trustees meeting on November 29, 2021, the Russian Studies Center structural division was established at the Faculty of International Relations of YSU.
The Center is a research and expert division operating at the YSU Faculty of International Relations, whose activity is aimed at carrying out scientific and analytical activities in the field of Russian research.
The center aims to highlight and analyze the problems of relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, as well as to conduct scientific research that will contribute to the sustainable development of relations between the two countries.
The center supports the development of educational and scientific research programs in the field of Russian research and the inclusion of international best practices in this field. The center organizes intra-university, inter-university, national and international conferences, expert seminars and round table discussions with the participation of leading scientists and experts.
The center organizes public lectures of leading representatives of the professional, scientific and expert circles of the Russian Eurasian integration area and master classes for YSU professors and students.
The center organizes the internships of young professors, postgraduate students and students of the faculty at Russian partner universities. Accordingly, professors, postgraduate students and students from Russian partner universities undergo internships at YSU.
The center supports YSU professors and postgraduate students in participating in conferences organized at leading Russian scientific and educational institutions.
YSU Center for Russian Studies also organizes the following university-wide and nationwide competitions:
- "Best Scientific Research Work" for young scientists
- "Best Student Scientific Work" for students
The center provides comprehensive support to the YSU professors and researchers in publishing their works in Russian scientific periodicals and journals.
The Center's researchers regularly publish collections of scientific articles (bilingual) on the key issues of international relations and modern foreign policy, promoting the development of Armenian political-scientific mind.
