The YSU Institute for Armenian Studies announces admission within the framework of the "Genocide Studies" Master's program.
Upon completion of the program, a Master’s degree in International Relations is granted. The project is implemented in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair for the Prevention of Genocide and Other Mass Crimes and the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
Two vacancies have been allocated with full tuition reimbursement (free of charge).
During their studies, the Master's degree students will learn:
- Various examples of genocide (Armenian Genocide, Holocaust, Cambodian Genocide, Rwandan Genocide, and other mass crimes),
- Issues of international legal responsibility for genocide,
- The topic of genocide in modern international relations,
- The ongoing processes in Artsakh, the danger of genocide, and the possibilities of self-determination,
- Social tactics during the genocide (perpetrators, rescuers, victims, and resisters);
- Issues of destruction of cultural heritage,
- The psychological consequences of the genocide (trauma, identity issues),
- Modern models of genocide prevention.
Documents will be accepted from June 1-30, 2023 until 18:00 (documents are accepted online through the admission.ysu.am website).
The first stage of admission exams will be held on July 4 according to the questionnaire intended for the entrance exam.
According to the regulations for the admission of the Master's degree program of Yerevan State University for the 2023/2024 academic year, the admission of the Master's degree program is carried out in two stages.
First stage: 01.06.2023 - 30.06.2023
The documents for the first stage of the Master's degree admission are accepted from June 1-30, 2023, until 18:00. The first stage admission exams will be held on July 4, 2023. Tuition fees for applicants admitted to the paid system (at least 25% of the 1st-semester tuition for each educational program of the 2023/2024 academic year) must be paid by July 20.
Second stage: 03.07-15.08.2023
The documents for the second stage of the Master's degree admission are accepted from July 3- August 15, 2023, until 18:00. Entrance exams will be held on August 22 and 23. Tuition fees for applicants admitted to the paid system (at least 25% of the 1st-semester tuition for each educational program of the 2023/2024 academic year) must be paid by August 30.
The admission of the YSU Master's degree in the 2023/2024 academic year in the on-site and off-site systems will be carried out according to the "YSU Master's degree studies admission procedure".
Documents to be submitted for participation in the admission competition
For Master's admission, applicants must submit scanned versions of the following documents:
a) Completed Master's degree admission application form, where only one Master's degree educational program should be indicated,
b) Diploma of higher education and the mark sheet,
c) In case of submitting a diploma from a foreign university, a reference indicating the equivalence of the diploma from the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility must be submitted,
d) 1 photo (3x4 size),
e) Military record book (if available) (it is necessary to download pages 1-4 and 18-19),
f) Passport (pages 1-4) or identification card,
g) The payment receipt of 3000 AMD charged for admission services (to the YSU’s bank account number of "Ardshinbank" CJSC: 2470101276000001).
