Chair of Management and Business

The Chair of Management and Business was founded in 1996. The Chair's founder was Dr., Professor Hayk Sargsyan, who headed the Chair until 2003. From 2003 to 2016 Dr., Professor Sargis Ghantarjian, and from 2016 to 2023 Ph.D., Associate Professor Karlen Khachatryan headed the Chair.

Since November 1, 2023, Ph.D., Associate Professor Anna Hakobjanyan, has been leading the Chair.

The teaching staff of the Chair carries out scientific and research work in the following professional areas: state regulation of the economy, tax policy, business management, human resources management, financial management, risk management, innovation management, service management, marketing strategies and research, business process management, project management. , quality management, and many other directions.

The lecturers and post-graduate students of the Chair are involved in local and international grant programs, which are financed by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA ESCS Ministry, the "APPEAR" program of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

The faculty members of the Chair are mainly famous graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU, as well as specialists with extensive work experience in various fields of the economy, including business, and state administration systems: bank managers, representatives of the state administration system, heads of large organizations, founders of businesses, etc.

The professors of the Chair are the authors of educational manuals, monographs, textbooks, and scientific articles, which are also published in periodicals with a high impact factor.

The Chair's scientist-pedagogues regularly undergo training and participate in international and local conferences and conventions.

The Chair of Management and Business implements the Undergraduate "Management", "Business Management (Administration)" and "Marketing (Marketing)" Master's degree educational programs, which are constantly improved, taking into account the features of international experience and the developments of the RA labor market.

Within the framework of the "Business Management (Administration)" educational program, several Master's degree students received diplomas from two universities through the partnership program of the CIS Network University.

Combining academic education with practical skills, the Chair regularly organizes lectures with the involvement of invited specialists (in the format of master classes and thematic lectures), as well as extracurricular classes organized in sectoral organizations with the participation of narrow specialists, taking into account the consistency of training specialists following the changing demands of the labor market. 

The professors of the Chair are actively involved in the work of the business incubator operating at YSU.

The YSU Chair of Management and Business has signed a memorandum of cooperation with "CaseKEY Academy" to establish a business problem-solving university club at YSU.
