The governing body of the SSS is the Student Scientific Society’s Academic Council, the members of which are YSU SSS Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and the chairmen of the faculty SSSs. The head of the SSS Academic Council is the Chairman of SSS, who is elected by YSU Academic Council.
Currently, the Chairperson of SSS is Siranush Baghumyan, applicant of the Faculty of History. The Secretary is Emma Noninyan, Master's student at the Faculty of Armenian Philology.
The initial structural units of YSU SSS, according to the SSS Charter, are the faculty branches of SSS. Undergraduate (at least studying in the 2nd year), graduate and postgraduate student may join the respective faculty branch of SSS according to the recommendation letter from the head of the corresponding chair. To receive it, the chairman of the faculty SSS presents the student to the head of the chair. An exemplary SSS member should have good academic performance, research and organizational skills, enjoy the sympathy of fellow students and lecturers. The members of the faculty SSS elect the president and the Secretary of their faculty SSS, whose candidacy should then be approved by the faculty Academic Council.
YSU SSS includes four permanent committees:
Foreign Relations Committee,
Media Committee,
General Affairs Committee,
Committee on Translation Issues:
Each president of SSS units may nominate one candidate for membership in SSS committees.
